Join us for a CMA Date Night
Thursday, March 11th Stove Factory Gallery
Line up your sitter now for a special CMA Date Night event on Thursday, March 11 from 7-10 p. m at the Stove Factory Gallery, 523 Medford Street. Evening activities will include an art scavenger hunt within the gallery artwork. This event was so enjoyable and successful last year we are having it again! The gallery is a great venue for socializing on these wintry nights and for checking out the work our local artists! Bring a date, friend, or come solo.
Tickets are $25 per person when purchased in advance via Paypal at http://www.kennedycenter.org or $30 per person at the door. The ticket price will include 2 drinks, light dinner and a fun “hunt” for things within our local artists’ work. Free parking next to the studio. Proceeds will benefit the Kennedy Center, Charlestown’s human service agency.
(The Kennedy Center offers full day, full year child care, Head Start and after school care; social services, emergency services, employment assistance, parenting education and support; the Community Resource Center at 55 Bunker Hill Street with various classes and activities for community residents; home care and recreational services for the elderly.) |

Public Library Meeting

The Trustees of the Boston Public Library are holding a community meeting at the Charlestown Branch Library on Saturday March 13th from 10 to 11:30 AM to discuss the library cutbacks for the next fiscal year.
This is the opportunity to let the Trustees know how important the library is to our community. |

Seussical the Musical!

Seussical the Musical at the Warren-Prescott School. Join the Cat in the Hat, Horton, the Whos, and many more of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters at this year's Warren-Prescott School production of Seussical the Musical, Directed by Olivia Thompson. Tickets are only $5.00 and will be on sale at the school during the week of March 8th (between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.) and at the door before each show. Performances will be held in the school auditorium on: Friday, March 12, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 13, at 2 p.m. The Warren-Prescott K-8 School is located at 50 School Street, Charlestown. 617.635.8346.

Thursday, March 4, at 7 p.m.
CMA Night at the Bruins! Thursday, March 4, Bruins vs Toronto Maple Leafs, starting at 7 p.m.! CMA is partnering with the Charlestown Youth Hockey Association to cheer on our future Bruins and Olympians! Our local hockey stars will play a game on the ice before the Bruins Game as part of the "Future Bruins" program and our littlest players will play between periods "3-Minutes of Fame".

Berklee Musicians Winter Family Concert Series

The Charlestown Nursery school will be hosting a family friendly, winter concert series at 124 Main St. Cost is $20 per family per concert.
Sunday, March 21 at 4:00 - Come hear a Berklee Music acoustic/ Folk artist
Admission can be purchased at the door. Admission can also be purchased ahead of time, and either dropped off or mailed to the Charlestown Nursery School, 124 Main St., with ATTN: Berklee Concert Series on the envelope. Checks should be made payable to Charlestown Nursery School.

Reading Readiness

Reading Readiness Program at the Charlestown Libray For Children Ages 2 to 5
Monday Afternoons @ 4:00
March 1 through April 5, 2010
Children will learn concepts such as body parts, colors, shapes letters and numbers through stories, books, cooperative games, singing, movement and art projects with follow up book list and activities. Reading Readiness incorporates kinesthetic, auditory, and visual modes of learning. Led by Su Eaton of Magical Creations.
