CMA Community Closet Clothing Sale
Saturday, March 3, 10:30am-2pm
Come one, come all! CMA is hosting its first ever neighborhood clothing sale at the Knights of Columbus on Sat., March 3, 10:30am-2 pm. Shop Charlestown’s Closet and have the chance to score almost-new, popular label clothes for everyone in your family at the best prices. The cost is only $10/bag of clothing (cash only – 2 bag per person limit) – bags will be provided upon payment into the event, and you are free to go and pick your items!
Calling all Fashionistas and Growing Families: Spring is around the corner and this is your opportunity to get a nice tax deduction for cleaning out your closets. We have set up donation centers in different locations around Charlestown: Bright Horizons at the Schrafft Center, Charlestown Boys & Girls Club, Charlestown Community Center, Charlestown Nursery School, Charlestown YMCA, Child Focus Center, The Cooperative Bank, Harvest on Vine, The Kennedy Center, Olivia Browning, St. Francis de Sales Church, St. John’s Church, St. Mary/St. Catherine's Rectory, and the Warren Prescott School. Donations will be accepted from February 5-February 24. We need your donations of LIGHTLY WORN - GENTLY USED clothing, shoes, and accessories (backpacks, pocketbooks) for all ages and genders from newborn to adult. Please consider pre-sorting donations by size. Please no socks, undergarments, unwashed, ripped or stained items! Donations will be tax deductible to the extent provided by law – any donor wanting a receipt should provide their name, street address and email address with their donation.

A Model of a Good Time
Feb. 18-26, Daily 10am-5pm
During February School Vacation Week, enjoy fun for the whole family at the USS Constitution Museum. Discover how the USS Constitution earned her nickname "Old Ironsides" in the hands-on gallery programs; test your sailor skills by caulking, or waterproofing, a ship; learn how to write like an officer by using a quill pen, and more! Don't forget to visit the theater to see the 33rd Annual Ship Model Show. Explore over 50 handcrafted models with a special-themed scavenger hunt and family guide to the Museum. After talking with and seeing the modelers in action, try your hand at building a paper boat at our craft station.

USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild Exhibition
February 4 - March 24, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
33rd Annual USS CONSTITUTION Model Shipwright Guild Exhibit
Hosted by the USS Constitution Museum – Sponsored by the Boston Marine Society
The USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild will be exhibiting the finest of their craft at the USS Constitution Museum in the Navy Yard starting Sat., February 4, until Sat., March 24. The Museum and exhibition of models is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations encouraged.
Over 50 different ships created by modelers from across New England will be on display, presenting a variety of reproductions from World War II destroyers to fishing dories, ships-in-bottles to sailing vessels. The modelers have masterfully captured the richness of our maritime history in miniature. A panel of Guild members judge qualifying entries on scale, detail and artistic excellence to award the top craftsmen in respective categories.
If you have ever wondered, “How do they get that ship in a bottle?” - Volunteers from the USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild will be on hand to answer your questions and demonstrate the technique, time and skill required to build a mini - masterpiece.
